The mission statement of this Society, which was established and incorporated as a non-profit organization in 1979 under the laws of the State of Colorado are to:

The Piñon Whispers Periodical

The Piñon Whispers, which has been published since April 1980, is mailed quarterly. We urge you to submit information pertaining to southeastern Colorado and its people, as well as hints, successful research stories and of course your five-generation chart. It is the aim of SECGS to publish only reliable, accurate material and family histories; however the Editor and staff of Pinon Whispers are not responsible for accuracy of content from submitters. The Society reserves the right to edit all materials submitted for publication. Queries from members are free. Queries from non-members are always welcome. The Society exchanges periodicals with over 60 other societies - those exchanges are in the Genealogy room at Rawlings Library for public use. Information for queries can be submitted to the address listed below.


All materials, both those purchased with the Society's Memorial Funds and those received as donations and exchanges, are available for public use in the Genealogy Department of the Robert Hoad Rawlings Public Library at 100 East Abriendo, Pueblo, CO


All donations to the society are tax deductible for purposes of Federal Income tax returns. The U.S. Treasury Department ruled that the SECGS Inc. is a tax exempt educational and scientific organization within the meaning of Section 501 (C) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1954 as amended. Monthly Meetings

Our monthly meetings are held on the first Saturday of the month with a Genealogical Studies class at 12:30 pm to 2:00 pm and our Program from 2:00 pm - 3:00 PM

You do not have to be a member to attend - Everyone is welcome.
